When the news of PayNow ending the use of alias in names was released, not much buzz came out of it. This was done under the argument that it helps with impersonation scams. Given millions were lost to online scams, I think people would simply go “sure, why not? What ever can work, let’s do it.”

In place of alias, PayNow would display a masked version of registered name. i.e. Robert Sim would become RobXXX SiX. Most of it would be mundane, but there would be some that would draw some laughs:

Jeremy See’s becomes JERXX SEX, with him saying that “My entire family’s surname just became NSFW”.

To all the TAX, WAX, MAX, AX, XX, SEX, etc, here’s a toast from SIX. It won’t be before long that X would be replaced with * or some illogical character.
