The Evolving Emoticons


Apparently the Japanese netizens are not satisfied with their current diverse set of emoticons. They are evolving and with more complexity. Short of saving the new emoticons as templates, I wonder how they use the evolved emoticons in their daily conversations.

This, (◉◞౪◟◉), has characters from geometric shapes unicode set and Tegulu script. Whereas, ( ;ω;), has the Greek Small Letter for Omega. And even Wikipedia’s comprehensive list of unicode characters fails to resolve what characters have been used in this (੭ु˙꒳​˙)੭ु⁾⁾.

On subcultureblog.com, some even expressed their surprise that the evolved forms.
