Facebook: The Tagging Game

Recently there is a spike in people being tagged in the Notes application over Notes titled “25 Random Things About Me”, “I am XX% awesome in the sight of so-and-so”, “3 things”, “Missing Words”, “Leave One Memory”, etc… There are a lot of Notes tagging undoubtedly. “25 Random Things About Me” is reportedly a productivity killer.

An estimated 5 million of these notes — that’s 125 million facts — have appeared on the website within the past week. Assuming it takes someone 10 minutes to come up with their list, this recent bout of viral narcissism has sent roughly 800,000 hours of work time productivity down the drain. (via)

And now, the tagging craze has spilled over to the Photo application. A random surfing of the Photo Feed on Facebook’s Home page yields about 9 different collages of emoticons, cartoon images or photos of rubber ducks. Some of which are repeated like the Little Miss collage. As with the Notes created, people will have to tag their friends once tagged by others. The chain goes on. Time is wasted over who to tag. When people view the pictures, they are tempted to add comments to it. More time is wasted. Yet another productivity killer in the works.

Here are the 9 different images I collected on Facebook. Just for the kicks. Click on the images to enlarge. And oh, superheroes are not spared too (scroll down to view. I mean down.)
