Since young, I am immersed in classical music just because my dad used to insist on listening to 92.4FM while driving then. However, my formal introduction to classical music came was when I had to go for music lessons in secondary school. Don’t get me wrong, primary school does have music lessons too, but the focus was somewhere else then. In the first lesson, we were introduced to two pieces, Air on G string and Toccata and Fugue in D Minor. Both pieces are by Bach. At times, I would listen to classical music. However, nothing can beat listening to a vocal leading the solo part of Air on G. Watch the following video to enjoy Bobby Mcferrin’s perfect pitch vocals in action!
The following is a conversation with someone today:
Her: Hi, are you still looking for job?
Me: Erm, I just started work.
Her: OK. I have one here. Do you have friends who are finding job? I send you an email?
Me: OK. Erm… Wait… Which email?
The trouble with me is that I have too many email accounts. Anyway, anyone who are interested can contact me for more information. I am doing her a favour, by the way.
I have come to like this interpretation of the dance routine by Sylvie Guillem. It is popularised by the Japanese movie, Dance Subaru (IMDB link). In it, the lead, Subaru (Meisa Kuroki) adapted this dance routine as a mean to earn money for her ballet classes. The video of Sylvie Guillem dancing comes in two parts on Youtube. Enjoy!
P.S. Since I am featuring not only singers, but also dancers, bands, etc , so it is natural to change the category from Artist of The Week to Artiste(s) of The Week.
For the past few years, I have not been having a list of resolutions to go by, saving for the resolutions to enter university (that was 3-4 years back). Bumbling around for the past few years, I realised that I have to get myself on starting to do resolutions again. To me, it is a time when I start to set my year long goals and targets.
So once again, without further ado, I will present my resolutions for the coming year on a separate page. It is a work in progress. I cannot think of everything now.
OK. This is the first time I am doing this. Anyway, here goes tumblr style posting:
The post-it note is generated from this website.
This post is long overdue. So is this group of singers. SORRY!!!
Anyway, the following cover of The Climb by Miley Cyrus is an online collaboration between AHMIR and David Sides, a talented pianist residing on Youtube. Enjoy! And oh, please visit their website too! It seems that they have released an album!
I am getting myself in deep trouble way too fast.
Three modules with one on waiting list? Far from what I had anticipated. It is all thanks to the lack of class slots. I do not know if it is intentional, but next time, I should just sign up for the classes instead of waiting a week or two.
My coffer is drained too. And there is no work yet. There goes my bills and hopes for the OCBC Cycle event next year. OK, time to start blasting resumes again.
