I had a slight interest in robots when I was in secondary school. But all I got to play was the Lego Mindstorm Robots in school. Below, is a 2-legged robot mimicking the (in)famous “Nobody” by Wonder Girls. For reference, I am including the original MV as well.
This is a continuation of the previous post: Hey to the peeps at #bthon. A really delayed post to boot.
I went back Tangs at about 12pm. The initial plan was just to collect the $50 voucher. But the plan derailed when I help @HillaryChan and @geekonomics to bring in their lunch. I bought ginseng chicken soup with rice from Lucky Plaza for both of them. It was deliberate, knowing that ginseng does aid in keeping people active. @geekonomics requested two cans of Red Bull too. Caffeine overload alert!
Anyway, I collected the $50 voucher from the ladies at the booth. To verify that I had retweeted the above message, I had to login to my account. The lady who verified it saw another tweet:
While at there, someone pulled me aside and asked on how to use Twitter. For a good 10 minutes, I became an unofficial ambassador of Twitter. After that, I went to see the various bloggers on ‘display’.
Here is @dk with his ‘sexy’ Michael Jackson pose. The sabo nature in me took the following and twitpic-ed it:
What an entertainer!
Back to the $50 dollars voucher, I used it to get a watch to replace my 5-year-old watch.
I bought the left piece. I have to thank those who helped me to select the piece: @HillaryChan, @geekonomics, @mkpadnama and @Honeymeow. Did I mentioned that I met Honeymeow there too? We were sharing about the confusion over her husband and I by others due to the similarity in our names.
The event ended at 6pm. I helped @HillaryChan and @geekonomics to pack their stuff up to their car. Honestly, I was not sure if @geekonomics could still drive home after the entire event. But since they are still alive and healthy up till now, I guess it is alright. 😛
The winners were announced about 30 minutes after. Congrats to @geekonomics and @nadnut for winning the laptops!
The day did not end for me there. Later, I went on to watch Harry Potter on my own. This is for another time.
Now, now. I am not hosting any 21st birthday parties with friends. 1 with family is enough. I seldom like the feeling that people gather to celebrate birthday. I am open to presents though. Haha.
Anyway, I gonna be prepared myself for something in camp later… Happy birthday to myself.
There was a small discussion at Plurk on which when marriage is deemed valid in Sinagapore, given 3 scenerios:
Most people replied said it is ROM. It is not wrong. I contended that at church or at a reception/wedding dinner, you can claimed being married.
My law lecturer, for some reason kept talking about marriage in Singapore, even though it is not directly important to my studies in business law. That got me diving into the legal text on AGC website. 1.5 hours of irrelevant studies into law.
Note and disclaimer: I try my best to interpret the statute, no matter how limited. No one should take this post as a absolute. In doubt, please consult a competent lawyer. …
I woke up especially early at 5am to run from home to Tangs. I wanted to beat the morning crowd at Orchard, otherwise I would have a good run. It took me 32 minutes to run approximately 4km. Good improvement since I did not run for the entire week. Anyway, I just got back home from Tangs and still sweating. Here are some of the stuff I saw:
- Blurry eyes
- @dk dancing
- @HillaryChan putting on light makeup.
- Some faces I don’t know. I am disconnected from the online world.
OK, time to shower then I head back to Tangs for window shopping with the 15% off for SAFRA card members, hopefully the family laptop and other gadgets.
Note to self: No more coffee latte from McDonald’s. Too much milk for my liking. I will stick to mocha.
This movie was released in 1993. I was watching it just now and it provides a lot of comic relief. I recommend anyone who wants to chill to watch this movie. (The *ahem*torrent*ahem* is very much alive, by the way.)
P.S. I have yet to decide to use my free GV voucher on either Harry Potter (HarPot, by my Plurk buddies) or 2oth Century Boys 2.
My family decided to celebrate my birthday early due to various commitments that everybody has. So we ended up having the cake cut 11 days earlier than my actual day. Here are the photos. I am tired of uploading and editing on Facebook already. There is a similar album over there.
P.S. It is my first time using NextGEN Gallery Plugin. The photos here will be edited or even re-uploaded in time to come.
